REVOLUTION to SERVOLUTION
Connect – Serve – Grow – Lead
Why don’t we as individuals serve or serve more in our community? How do we go from being “church attenders” to servants on a mission to impact our community? I think it has to start with the basics of a starting a revolution in our community. What’s a revolution look like? It’s a clear mission that everyone believes in. It’s a group of people that will not stand for any more oppression, hears the cries of the poor, the hurting and the forgotten and it’s leaders are willing to sacrifice and even lay down their lives to create the change.
Now, let’s take that and combine it with serving to create a SEVOLUTION. A servolution is 1. A complete and radical change of a person’s life caused by simple acts of kindness for the glory of God. 2. God’s kingdom on earth as it is in heaven. 3. A church revolution through serving. The goal of a servolution has to be to demonstrate the love of Jesus, not to make people feel like they now owe it your church or organization to attend a service.
One thing I’ve come to realize is that a servolution is not just for the people being served. EVERY CHRISTIAN NEEDS TO SERVE. If we call our selves Christians then we need to be followers of Christ. That means more than just absorbing the knowledge of the bible on Sunday but sharing it with others. You have to remember, to follow someone means to do what they do. Jesus was very clear on what he did. He loved God with all his heart, He loved others as himself, He brought the Good News to the poor, He proclaimed that the blind (spiritually) will see, He set the oppressed free, and He served instead of being served.
If you will serve with no other agenda than to show God’s love and you do it for His kingdom I guarantee he will bless it. You don’t have to have giant stadium type projects that take months to plan and organize. Start by just doing something. Hand out bottles of water on a hot day, have a totally free car wash, clean a businesses bathrooms, wash car windows at a stop light, pass out flowers to elderly ladies, the list goes on and on. The point is to just start. Not for Jesus Was Homeless, not for your church to grow more, not to make yourself look good to others, but do it for God and His kingdom. If you do, you might be surprised at how the other blessings happen anyhow. Please share your experiences with us if you start your own SEVOLUTION and check out servolution.org for more ideas.
YELLOW BIKE PROGRAM
![]() For this program to grow and put more bicycles on the street we will need community partners like Branson Tourism Center. We have a vision goal of 100 Yellow Bikes by July 1st. That means we need 44 more Yellow Bikelocations and partners. For more information about how to become a tax deductible Yellow Bike location Sponsor go to our Yellow Bike Page.
We have also aquired a location to repair bikes next to CenturyLink on Hwy 248 in the Gretna Plaza and even had a donor commitment for the annual rent. We will soon be letting everyone know when it’s up and ready for volunteers.
