THANKSGIVING

“For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve others and to give his life as a ransom for many.” – Matthew 20:28 (NLT)

*THANK YOU*

Sorry to say that last night Bryan and I were unable to deliver meals during our meal delivery time. We were blessed to help everyone get started and pray out at the end of the night but had a musical to attend for Gable in between. Thursday nights have become such a vital part of our lives that it is really hard for us to have to miss, but it so excites us to see our volunteers show up with such a desire to serve others. Every Thursday we have our “regulars” and always new faces ready to get out of their “comfort zone” and become the hands and feet of our Lord. I love to see families, husbands and wives, moms and dads and especially kids all taking time out of their busy schedules to love on those less fortunate. I knew that I knew that I knew when God put this incredible vision on our hearts that there would be many others who would share with us in this and become a vital part in sharing the love of Christ with others. I realize that we have shared in the past how this ministry is not just about delivering meals (although it is important) but we have come to understand it is really about sharing hope and kindness with fellow strugglers.

For all of the people who help with this ministry (from the meal makers, donors, prayer warriors, and even those who take the time to read these usually lengthy emails) we want to say, “Thank you and we appreciate all that you do”.

Love Amy

We will speak the truth in love, growing in every way more and more like Christ, who is the head of his body, the church. He makes the whole body fit together perfectly. As each part does its own special work, it helps the other parts grow, so that the whole body is healthy and growing full of love. – Ephesians 4:15-16

*VOLUNTEER GIFT WRAPPING*

Troy Garrison he has arranged for us to have a gift wrapping table at Books A Million beginning the day after Thanksgiving until Christmas. If anyone would like to volunteer please contact us ASAP. The times will be every Friday, Saturday, Sunday from about 9am – 8pm . We need to get this information back to Troy so that we can together a schedule of what we can get covered and then Troy’s group will cover the rest. We would gift wrap for donations to Jesus Was Homeless and Troy’s group would gift wrap for Special Olympics.

*THANKSGIVING DINNER & VOLUNTEERS*

It’s almost here!! We are so excited. We have had so many people ask to volunteer and all are welcome. Spread the word, it’s free, there’s going to be live music, free winter clothing, free “care bags” of toiletry items, free transportation, food and fellowship. Doors will open at 5:30, food served at 6:30. If you know someone that will be alone for Thanksgiving then this is for them. There’s a flyer that you can print off on the website under the schedule page.

We are asking for all volunteers to show up at the Boys & Girls Club in Branson between 4:00-4:30. There are lots of areas to serve. Just to name a few:
Door Greeters – Guest Seaters – Order Takers – Drink & Food Carriers – Kitchen – Clean-up – Table Workers – Item Distributors – Transportation – and many more!!
Most importantly will be the people available to listen and talk to the guests.

We also need volunteers this Monday night at 5:30 to help distribute the Bus/Transportation Schedule. We will meet at Church Army Branson.
